Jakub Szymański – year 68. Veterinary doctor by profession. He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. In a conscious way, he began to photograph in high school. It was traditional photography, hundreds of hours spent in the darkroom. Currently, he works in reportage, documentary and socially engaged photography. His most important interests focus on the condition of man and his activities. He is interested in the relationship of man with his own surroundings. Photographing people in their natural environment during work and daily activities give him a lot of fun. He likes to carry out long-term projects, searching for the truth in his own topic. He participated in many outdoor photography workshops organized by the Association of Polish Art Photographers, the Union of Polish Nature Photographers, the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland and the Photoklub of Podlasie.
Co-founder of Creative Group „Motycz”. Together with friends for 5 years he worked on photographic projects showing various aspects of life of the inhabitants of Eastern Poland. Since March 2016, a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers – Lublin district. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2018.
Laureate of many photo contests. Juror of photo contests titled „Tradition in focus” organized by the Association of Folk Animators at the International Folk Music Festival „Mikołajki Folkowe” in Lublin and the 6th National Photographic Competition of Doctors and Medical Students.
